IONOS builds the Federal Administration's secure cloud. The framework agreement is worth over 400 million euros!

• IONOS receives a surprising major contract worth up to €410 million for the development of a secure cloud solution for the federal administration.
• The order could be a door opener and IONOS benefits from the digitization of the public sector. Profit estimates for the coming years should rise.

The news from IONOS (A3E00M) on 04-02-2024, which the group published after Easter, is a real eye-opener. The company was awarded a major contract by the federal administration for the development of a particularly stringently secured cloud solution. The framework contract is worth up to €410 million. The "private enterprise cloud" is certified by the BSI and is to be operated in the data centers of the Federal Information Technology Center.

IONOS helps with the digitization of administration, as the secure cloud will be used to store some of the data on the German driving aptitude register in Flensburg and on student loans. The Federal Information Technology Center is regarded as the central service facility of the German federal administration. IONOS uses a platform as an air-gapped solution that is not connected to the public Internet. It is almost impossible for outsiders to access sensitive information, as the computers are also separated from the networks.

The order could open the door for IONOS to become a major beneficiary of public digitization with its secure European cloud and expertise in implementing secure digitization solutions in external data centers. Our model portfolio stock should break out to its all-time high.
